Product Description

40FT Container Reefer with Diesel Generator Combined System

Reefer container is an enclosed unit used for transporting temperature sensitive cargo.
The container requires an external power supply for its operation.

Reefer contaner should be made of sepcial material that different from dry container, and with high strength, good looking and easy to repair. It also has strong refrigeration equipment: Carrier and Thermo King, which has extreme refrigeration range is -30DC to + 30DC (-22FC to + 86 FC)

When reefer containers are loaded in ships, the power supply is provided from the power generated from the D.G sets of the vessel. If the vessel's generator capacity is not enough to support the additional power consumption of the refrigerated containers (in case of old ship or unavailability of generator due to overhauling etc.), mobile power packs are installed on the ship.

Container Refrigeration unit is fitted in front of the container and it serves as a container front wall.
Some units are dual voltage, designed to operate on 190/230 or 380/460 volts A.C, 3 phase, 50-60 hertz power.
Operating control power is provided by single phase transformer which steps down the A.C supply power source to 24 volts, 1 phase control power.

Basic Sections of Refer Unit:

1.  Compressor Section
Consists of a compressor (with H.P switch) and power cable storage compartment. Power transformer may be an option where the ship supply differs.
It also contain modulating and suction solenoid valve (for controlling the quantity of gas flow).
Safety fittings in the section are- moisture liquid indicator, pressure relief valve, filter drier etc.
Safety of the system is further enhanced by electronic monitoring with the help of following sensors- Compressor suction and discharge sensor, supply air temperature sensor, supply recorder sensor, ambient sensor.

2. Condenser Section
The condenser section contains condenser fan and its motor, an air cooled condenser coil and condenser saturation sensor.
For air cooled condenser air is normally pulled from bottom and discharged horizontally through centre of the unit.
Some units consists of water cooled condenser /receiver. This unit is expensive.

3. Evaporator Section
This section contains temperature sensing bulb, return recorder bulb sensor and a thermostatic expansion valve (for flow of refrigerant and maintenance of inside temperature).
Assembly consist of evaporator coil and heater, drain pan and heater, defrost and heat transmission switches.
The evaporator fan circulates air throughout the container by pulling air in top of refrigeration unit and directing air through evaporator coil where it's either heated or cooled and is then discharged out at the bottom of refrigeration unit into the container.

4. Fresh air Make up Vent
Purpose of this vent is to provide ventilation for commodities that requires fresh air circulation and must be closed when transporting frozen foods.
Air exchange depends upon static pressure differential which will vary depending upon how container is loaded.

SITE PREPARATION
It is important that both electrical power and physical site requirements are met prior to receiving equipment.
Site preparation work is the responsibility of the customer (renter/lessee) and should be coordinated and paid for by the same.

Electrical Requirements

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all electrical work completed on their property meets local codes. The customer should question any system requirements that are not understood. It is recommended that the customer contract a local licensed electrician to ensure power/service requirements are met by the facility.

Power
Units operate on 380-400 VAC, 3-phase, 50 Hz power with a maximum electrical load, under rated operating conditions, maximum output 18.75 kVA.
Power consumption 5.3L/h with Displacement 2.2L.

If 400 VAC is not available it is the customer's responsibility to determine the power voltage available and communicate the same to you.
You should dispatch equipment fitted with a step-up power transformer to meet the customer's needs.
Step-up transformers to accommodate either 220 or 230VAC, 3-phase, 50 Hz power.

If the customer plans to invest in new electrical service in for this application, 380/400 VAC would be the more economical choice.

Hardwiring vs. Use of Receptacles

There are two ways to connect the unit's voltage power cable to electrical service.

1) Hardwiring - which typically requires that a licensed electrician connect each of 3 power legs and one ground connection to an electric service panel.

2) Receptacles - if unit will be connected and disconnected frequently this may be the best method to connect the unit to power.

Electrical Plugs

There are two plug designs on the market that can be used with this equipment, a marine and a domestic type plug.

Marine plugs CEE-17:
All refrigeration systems should be provided with a 380/400 VAC marine design power plug. If the customer plans on using 230/240
VAC power, then the 380/400 VAC plug is necessary, it connects to the unit's step-up transformer, see diagram at right.

If customer will operate on 380/400 VAC and plans to hardwire the same, they can have their electrician remove the supplied plug upon arrival at their site. This plug should be reinstalled when returned. Missing plugs should be charged back
to the customer for both parts and labor.

Loading Recommendations

Follow these simple steps to ensure product temperature is maintained as close to required setpoint as possible:

1. Pre-Cool or Pre-Freeze product prior to loading

2. Prior to loading, for frozen set points insert (4) floor drain plugs inside container (2 front 2 rear in corners). For chill range set points keep floor drains open (do not plug).

3. Load cargo flush with the front bulkhead; leave no spaceScreen Shot 2014-10-06 at 2.07.53 PM

4. Do not load past the end of the "T" floor

5. Leave 6" of air space above cargo for return air to circulate. (Do not load cartons above the red line)
